about

We penned this parody quickly at a Steampunk convention for a last-minute show we'd been asked to that evening.

The original is "Has Anybody Seen My Girl?" Music by Ray Henderson, Lyrics by Sam M. Lewis & Joseph Widow Young. As of January 1, 2021, the song has fallen into the public domian.

lyrics

Help me quick!
My tocks won’t tick
My joints are frozen, I feel sick
Has anybody seen my oil?

Movement gone
Rusted on
I’m a stiff automaton
Has anybody seen my oil?

I want to sing and dance around and be jubilant
But I’m stuck, what the heck?
I can’t find my lubricant.

Motion ceased,
Need release
Just can’t seem to find me grease
Has anybody seen my oil?
